What’s on in Porto and its surroundings in July 2017
If you are looking for a beautiful, exciting and unique place to spend this summer, Portugal simply must make the top of the list. The northern part of the country is one of the most prosperous and pretty spots in the country and if you need another list of reasons to stop by, today we look into what’s on in Porto and its surroundings in July 2017.
OK, you may have to actually wait until the end of the month of July for this, but the Vilar de Mouros Festival, the first real rock music festival ever to have been held in Portugal, the oldest one and the most famous, is most definitely worth the wait. Vilar de Mouros is a charming town just by the Spanish border, about an hour and a half’s drive away from Porto. International artists such as U2, Elton John, Bob Dylan and The Pretenders have honored the stage here ever since the festival’s first edition in 1971. This late July – early August (dates to be confirmed for this year) promises a lot of energy, electricity and good loud music for everyone!
Actually, The Pretenders are going to be near Porto this year, on July 20th, when they are bound to hold a concert during the Vigo En Festas Festival 2017.
Do you want to learn how to draw? The Faculty of Belas Artes in Porto organizes a drawing course on July 3rd: Figure drawing for beginners. This is a great start if you want to take up a great artistic hobby. And you have rendez-vous with the same institution again on the 7th for a slightly more advanced Drawing Course. Interesting techniques, new ideas and a lot of fun is surely in store on that educational day.
One great way to voyage through the winding cobblestone streets of Porto is behind the wheel of a Porto car hire, available online at great rates!
