What to do in Porto this March

Flowers are blooming, there is scent of spring in the air and the sun bathes the beautiful plains and hills of Northern Portugal, so I guess a trip to Oporto is in store. This begs the question of what to do in Porto this March 2016. Here are a few suggestions.

This is your last chance this season to witness the greatest vernissages and opening exhibitions in the city of Porto, a renowned cultural center as a matter of fact. All these events take place on the Miguel Bombarda Street, one of the most lively, animated and colorful arteries in town. There are restaurants, arts shops, vintage shops, design and fashion venues, together with bookstores and even business centers that will open the most glamorous exhibitions. You are all welcome to join until March 16th 2016.

Since 1986, every March, towards the end of the month, Celtic music fans gather in Porto for one of the greatest international festivals of its kind: the Porto Interceltic Festival. For ten days, Portuguese and European musicians come to sing or play on the Celtic rhythms. If you are curious to be a part of this different music festival, you are welcome to join!

Scheduled to last until the 6th of March, Fantasporto is an ongoing International Film Festival that brings the best Sci-Fi movies to Northern Portugal. Fantastic imaginary and high-tech futuristic gadgets will come to the screen of the Porto Rivoli Teatro Municipal.

This is just a short preview of all the awesome things you can see and do in Porto during the first month of spring this year. One thing, though, is certain, it’s a great opportunity to visit this beautiful Portuguese city during the mild month of March, so if you can, why wait?

And while in town, to get around more easily, you can book with Porto car hire or get a Porto taxi (which you can actually confirm in advance, online).
