Porto events in autumn 2014

The most important center in the north of Portugal, Porto City, is a place of intense activity and hosts festivals, concerts and other important events. So how about a list of these Porto events in autumn 2014?

One of the most rich and special cities in Portugal invites you to spend an amazing autumn among people who can party, celebrate but also get serious while attending congresses and significant events. These all happen in Porto and its surroundings.

One landmark is the International Congress on Environmental Health, which is going to be hosted by Porto city this time. We talk of pollution, risk assessment, food safety and public health issues and the way we can impact our environment between 24th September and 26th September.

If you appreciate nature and its wild (or human-touched) beauty, you will be happy to find out that the International Garden Festival, which started in May, is going to last until the end of October. Thematic gardens in Ponte de Lima are on display for five months for all to enjoy. They are a delight for any passer by and remember: you are still on time to visit them!

Apart from the sad and melancholy sounds of Fado, we have often observed that the Portuguese appreciate jazz music very much. So if you count yourself among the jazz passionates, do not miss Guimaraes Jazz, one of the best profile music festivals.

A widely popular event will be the Autoclassico Expo, a long-awaited automobile exhibit that will occupy three days in October (3-5). It is dedicated to the history and importance of the motor industry and should definitely be in your calendar!
