1. Mercado do Bolho

In the heart of Porto, Portugal, is the old covered market known as Mercado do Bolho. It was constructed in the late 19th century and for more than a century, it has served as the city’s main center for the food and agriculture industries.
The market is renowned for the enormous variety of stalls selling fresh commodities such meats, flowers, and fruit.
It’s a terrific spot to experience the local culture and sample some of the mouthwatering cuisine the area has to offer.
The market is located in a stunning Art Nouveau-style structure with two wings projecting out on either side and a center hall coated in glass.

2. Livraria da Baixa

Have you ever pondered what a bookstore and café/bar from the 1920s would look like combined? This fusion is available in Porto! Books, beverages, “petiscos” and music all go hand in hand at Livraria da Baixa.
The combination of the antique furnishings and the pleasure of reading a book while sipping a drink results in the calming and lovely atmosphere.
This location also happens to be in the town’s hippest district.

3. Ribeira

In the center of Porto, Portugal, sits the lovely and ancient Ribeira area. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is well renowned for its winding lanes, brightly painted homes and charming squares.
The area offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding countryside and is situated along the banks of the Douro River.
Small stores, cafes, and eateries abound in this area, making it a terrific destination to explore on foot. You can buy a wide range of regional items and products, such as apparel, handcrafted crafts and other mementos.
The S. Francisco Church, the Porto Cathedral and the Clérigos Tower are just a few of the neighborhood’s historical and cultural landmarks.

4. The Foz lighthouses

The Foz lighthouses are situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty at the confluence of the Douro River and the Atlantic Ocean, making this location particularly unique and deserving of a visit.
At this location, you can take an energizing walk in the mornings or nights along the water toward the three lighthouses. Then, take a seat in one and enjoy the tranquility of the sea, the fisherman, the wind and the sea breeze.
Since the city won’t be visible at all if you gaze directly at the ocean, you might nearly believe you are at sea level.

5. Foz Velha

The most enjoyable times to get lost in Foz Velha’s charming old streets are during weekends. Try out Flor do Gás, a small boat taxi that only exists to ferry people (and bicycles) over the Douro river, while exploring this area.
It crosses the river every 15 minutes and has been doing so since 1961.
The ride offers a fresh perspective from which to appreciate the Arrábida bridge and locate the point at which the river empties into the Atlantic Ocean.
There are a number of straightforward eateries with a good selection of regional foods, primarily fish-related, on both banks of the river.

Designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996, Porto is a mesmerizing city, which has a distinctive ambience with elegant communities and sizable villas perched on winding cobblestone alleys and is situated in the north of Portugal at the exit of the Douro River.

People typically think of traveling to Portugal’s capital city, Lisbon, when they first consider doing so. Although Porto, which was named “The City to Visit This Year” by Forbes in 2017, is the country’s second-largest city after Lisbon, but not the second-best! The lovely city of Porto is situated along the Douro river 280 kilometers north of Lisbon. Porto, one of the top 100 cities in the world with the most foreign tourists, is the home of Port wine, street art, and “francesinhas.”

1. Palacio da Bolsa
The Palácio da Bolsa, a sizable Neoclassic building built on the site of the former St. Francis Convent, is next to the Sao Francisco Church. The palace was constructed as a stock market and financed by the Porto commercial association with the intention of impressing Europe’s business titans. The structure was designed by a number of architects during the course of its approximately 70-year construction. The Arab Room, created in a Moorish style by Gustavo Adolfo Gonçalves e Sousa, is a highlight of any palace tour. The remarkable area, one of Porto’s most well-liked tourist attractions, is still employed as a receiving hall for distinguished guests arriving today.

2. Clerigos Tower
The Igreja dos Clerigos, or Church of the Clergy, tower’s 18th-century tower is a stunning example of baroque extravagance. The Torre dos Clerigos, a landmark and must-see site in Porto, was created in 1754 by Italian painter and architect Nicolau Nasoni. With a height of about 76 meters, the elaborate tower is one of the tallest buildings in Northern Portugal. A panoramic view of the city and the Duoro river estuary is the prize for those who make the 255-step climb to the tower’s belfry.

3. Cais da Ribeira
The riverside neighborhood of Porto is a mesmerizing maze of winding, winding streets, zigzagging passageways, and low-slung, sun-starved arcades. The Ribeira is a journey in flavor and color, with terraces of grand townhouses painted in vibrant mustard, tangerine, and tawny hues that face the River Douro.
This is the most well-liked location in the city for unwinding and socializing due to the abundance of eateries and cafés situated beneath the arches along the quayside. Furthermore, the riverfront area, Praça da Ribeira, is a well-liked gathering place with a dynamic, youthful energy.

4. Crystal Palace Gardens
Visit the Crystal Palace (“Palácio de Cristal”) gardens, which were created in the 19th century by German landscape architect Émile David, when you need a breath of fresh air in the middle of the city. Eight hectares of lavish vegetation, intimate corners, and belvederes with breathtaking river views make up the gardens. Additionally, the Porto Municipal Gallery, whose exhibitions are good and free, and the Quinta da Macieirinha Romantic Museum are nearby.

5. World of Discoveries
At this modern interactive museum and theme park, Portugal’s remarkable Age of Discovery, a period of conquest and discovery, is recreated with astounding detail. Through a series of in-depth displays and displayed animations, the treacherous journeys of Portuguese navigators in the 15th century, setting sail in fleets of frail caravels to navigate uncharted waters and map new countries, are brought to beautiful life. But the true adventure starts once you board a boat and travel to places like Brazil, which Pedro lvares Cabral explored in 1500, and Vasco da Gama, who in 1498 charted a maritime route from Portugal to India. For all ages, this is a fantastically entertaining and educational event.

Come and visit Porto, always relying on Porto Airport Transfer for high quality and hassle free taxi services to enjoy unforgettable moments with your family and friends!

Welcome to the one and only Porto, the wonderful city which thrills the passers-by’s eyes and hearts!

Porto is a historic city, with a beautiful uniqueness and special spirit, which carries business and trade written into its very name. The centre is a World Heritage site, and you’ll be struck by its richness and variety. There are medieval walls, gleaming Baroque churches, the compact streets of the Ribeira district, the Romanesque Cathedral and that’s just the beginning.
There are a lot of things to do in this beautiful fascinating city and definitely lots of amazing places to see and to spend a good time with your dear ones.

The art and culture lovers will definitely spend a wonderful and quality time while visiting the Serralves Museum. Serralves Museum is the foremost museum for contemporary art in Portugal, uniquely sited in the grounds of the Serralves Estate, which also comprises a Park and a Villa. Admire the Art Deco architecture of the museum and appreciate the remarkable collection of contemporary art with the Museum & Park entrance ticket. Then take a stroll in the gardens, see exotic plants and a diversity of trees.

The Nacional Museum Soares dos Reis, the former Museu Portuense and Portugal’s first art museum, was founded in 1833 when Pedro IV decided to establish a Museum of Painting and Prints in Oporto. A lot of these pieces are still on display, while much of the earlier art was taken from followers of the deposed King Miguel I. It is named for António Soares dos Reis, a 19th century sculptor from Vila Nova de Gaia on the south bank of the Douro. There are a few pieces by Soares dos Reis here as well as other vaunted Portuguese painters and sculptors like Silva Porto, Vieira Portuense, Domingos Sequeira and Miguel Ângelo Lupi.

Here in Porto you can phisically touch the romantic nostalgy of the golden old times while visiting the Romantic Museum. The Romantic Museum recreates a nineteenth-century aristocratic house. Its interior has a special charm with its rooms beautifully decorated with painting and antiques. The Museum is housed in a striking mansion, where Charles Albert of Sardinia found refuge after abdicating when he was defeated by the Imperial Austrian army. He spent the last year of his life here until he died in 1849 of tuberculosis. The rooms that visitors explore during a visit of the Romantic Museum have been redecorated in his memory.

You can continue your descovering of the city’s charm by visiting Livraria Lello, an absolutely breathtaking bookstore, one of the most emblematic bookstores in the country — and the world. It is right in the center of Porto and is part of its historical heritage.
The impressive neogothic architecture transforms this historical building in one of the most popular places in town, serving as well as a source of inspiration for those with a vivid and lush imagination. If you are a fan of the Harry Potter saga, know that this bookstore served as an inspiring setting for the author J.K. Rolling, who lived in Porto.

There are only four places in the world where the public can climb the arch of a bridge and Porto is one of them! In 1963, the Arrábida Bridge was the largest concrete arch in the world.
Since 2016, this arch has become the only one in Europe opened to visitors. It is a unique opportunity to have access to this amazing place. In the company of a guide and with all the safety equipment, even those who are dizzy can climb one of the most iconic buildings in Porto.
At the top, 65 meters above the river, you will find a quiet and relaxing place where you can enjoy unique views … and a delicious surprise!

Enjoy these remarkable places, always counting on Porto Airport Transfers!
