1. Mercado do Bolho

In the heart of Porto, Portugal, is the old covered market known as Mercado do Bolho. It was constructed in the late 19th century and for more than a century, it has served as the city’s main center for the food and agriculture industries.
The market is renowned for the enormous variety of stalls selling fresh commodities such meats, flowers, and fruit.
It’s a terrific spot to experience the local culture and sample some of the mouthwatering cuisine the area has to offer.
The market is located in a stunning Art Nouveau-style structure with two wings projecting out on either side and a center hall coated in glass.

2. Livraria da Baixa

Have you ever pondered what a bookstore and café/bar from the 1920s would look like combined? This fusion is available in Porto! Books, beverages, “petiscos” and music all go hand in hand at Livraria da Baixa.
The combination of the antique furnishings and the pleasure of reading a book while sipping a drink results in the calming and lovely atmosphere.
This location also happens to be in the town’s hippest district.

3. Ribeira

In the center of Porto, Portugal, sits the lovely and ancient Ribeira area. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is well renowned for its winding lanes, brightly painted homes and charming squares.
The area offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding countryside and is situated along the banks of the Douro River.
Small stores, cafes, and eateries abound in this area, making it a terrific destination to explore on foot. You can buy a wide range of regional items and products, such as apparel, handcrafted crafts and other mementos.
The S. Francisco Church, the Porto Cathedral and the Clérigos Tower are just a few of the neighborhood’s historical and cultural landmarks.

4. The Foz lighthouses

The Foz lighthouses are situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty at the confluence of the Douro River and the Atlantic Ocean, making this location particularly unique and deserving of a visit.
At this location, you can take an energizing walk in the mornings or nights along the water toward the three lighthouses. Then, take a seat in one and enjoy the tranquility of the sea, the fisherman, the wind and the sea breeze.
Since the city won’t be visible at all if you gaze directly at the ocean, you might nearly believe you are at sea level.

5. Foz Velha

The most enjoyable times to get lost in Foz Velha’s charming old streets are during weekends. Try out Flor do Gás, a small boat taxi that only exists to ferry people (and bicycles) over the Douro river, while exploring this area.
It crosses the river every 15 minutes and has been doing so since 1961.
The ride offers a fresh perspective from which to appreciate the Arrábida bridge and locate the point at which the river empties into the Atlantic Ocean.
There are a number of straightforward eateries with a good selection of regional foods, primarily fish-related, on both banks of the river.

Discover Porto’s hidden attractions, always relying on Porto Transfers for easy and high-quality taxi services with your dear ones, forever creating new unforgettable memories!

Porto, a historical and vivid location, set on the northern bank of the Douro River, is the second biggest city in Portugal after Lisbon, blooming season after season and mesmerizing its visitors and habitants through its rich spirit and astonishing attractions.

There are a lot of things to do in this beautiful fascinating city and definitely lots of amazing places to see and to spend a good time with your dear ones.

Of course, the best way to start your day is to have a delicious breakfast at the one and only “ O Diplomata” where you can enjoy the best pancakes in town.
It’s one of the busiest places in Porto’s Baixa due to its excellent tasty pancakes, which will sweeten your day and your heart. Apart from being tall, fluffy and extremely savory, the customers can choose the batter of his choice. What’s gonna be: simple, chocolate, oatmeal, vegan, blueberry or Oreo cookie batter? Only you can choose once you decide to try this place out.

You can continue your day visiting the city and you definitely can’t miss Livraria Lello, an absolutely breathtaking bookstore, one of the most emblematic bookstores in the country — and the world. It is right in the center of Porto and is part of its historical heritage.
The impressive neogothic architecture transforms this historical building in one of the most popular places in town, serving as well as a source of inspiration for those with a vivid and lush imagination. If you are a fan of the Harry Potter saga, know that this bookstore served as an inspiring setting for the author J.K. Rolling, who lived in Porto.

You have to see and enjoy the wonderful landscape of the city from the top of the grandiose bridge Dom Luis I, one of the most iconic structures in Portugal. An industrial symbol for Porto, this twin-level metal arched bridge opened in 1886. It was conceived by the German engineer Théophile Seyrig who co-founded the Eiffel Company.
Pedestrians can walk across using the narrow pavements set either side of the road, or be really brave and traverse the structure using the 60-meter-high top-tier footpath.

You can continue you day gathering your friends at the Virtudes Garden, developed on a series of steps, which houses the largest Ginkgo Biloba in Portugal, a tree with about 35 meters. Usually, the locals gather in this garden, one of the most sought after in Invicta, for a good time among friends. Come and join people of all ages, playing musical instruments and admiring one of the most beautiful views of the river Douro.

You can end the most interesting day in the most interesting way by enjoying a cold beer at Bonaparte Downtown, one of the most popular and busiest bars in Baixa.
Due to the low light, the antique-furnished walls and the excellent drinks, this is the ideal palce to spend your evening with friends, watching football games, having some snacks and having a good time. If you are a beer lover, there are international beers, such as Erdinger (German) and Guinness (Irish) and there is also a varied whiskey and cocktails menu.

Porto is amazing, isn’t it? You can spend all day long visiting this charming city and not getting bored or tired because it’s quite impossible.
Spend your holidays enjoying the best things and visiting the most vibrating places, always counting on Porto Airport Transfer for easy and safe transfers.

If you are yet to choose the place to spend the most optimistic season of the year, there should be no doubt in your mind: come spend an eventful spring 2015 in Porto, the capital of Northern Portugal.

As one of the most culturally relevant centers in Portugal and the heart of the industrialized side of the country, Porto is usually a place buzzing with excitement, where there is always something “up”.

Here are some of the highlights of the spring 2015 events that will convince you it is worth coming to the unconquered city of Oporto.

Between February 27th and March 7th 2015, the beautiful Baroque city of Porto welcomes us to the European and worldwide film festival Fantasporto, which has reached its 35th edition. This edition is dedicated to Orson Welles, as we celebrate a century from his birth. Dancing also has a special place in Fantasporto 2015, as a great retrospective dedicated to the undying Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire has been planned, along with contemporary dances and more surprises.

Trade fairs are an essential part of the life of Porto, so in March 2015, be prepared for two such events: the EXPORT HOME-Furniture, Lighting and Household Goods for Export – Exhibition held between the 4th and 7th of March, and the Portugal Print-International Graphic Arts, Advertising, Communications and Promotional Textiles Exhibition, scheduled to be on display between the 19th and 21st of March.

Finally, Porto re-attests its place among the relevant cultural centers in Europe and the world in April, between the 15th and 16th, as research and academic institutions gather in a Conference of PARC and COAR to discuss ways of redefining the roles of the academia as agents promoting change and enabling access to information.

If you find yourself in Portugal this spring, you can put your trust in our Porto taxi services or in Porto car rental.

When planning a trip to the north region of Portugal, there are many important expenses that one must take into account – most important of which being air travel and accommodations – but there’s one somewhat ‘hidden’ cost that you may not think of initially and that’s where our Porto Transfers services come into play.

Porto Transfers to any holiday or business destination

The ‘hidden’ cost we’re talking about is the cost of transportation, from the Porto Airport to wherever you’re planning to spend your holiday. The thing is that you might still have a ways to travel till you reach your resort, town, or whatever, and that’s a cost that will most likely put a dent in your travel budget if you can’t take it into account while planning.

Usually people just think that they can take a taxi to their destination, and that’s a valid option, but what they don’t always realize is the sheer distances that have to be traveled and the fact that you’ll be covering them in a taxi. Taxi fares also vary to a certain degree between companies and obviously there are cabbies that aren’t in the business of getting you there as quickly as possible.

Do you need a Porto transfers with a Mercedes car for business or private trip?

Private Porto Transfers with Mercedes cars

There’s also the option of public transportation that has to be taken into account. On the other hand you’ll be navigating a foreign country’s public transportation system, which can be hard even if you speak the language. Also keep in mind that you’ll be carrying some luggage with you.

When you compare that with the fact that the drivers of our Porto transfers are professionals who speak English, Portuguese and Spanish and the fact that you’ll be traveling in air conditioned comfort, the choice becomes so much easier.
